Early on June 15, 2017, Shirley Cooley went home to meet the Lord she’d served so faithfully for many years. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gene Cooley, and son, Lindell Cooley of Nashville, Tennessee, and his wife Amber and two sons, Samuel and Isaac.

Mrs. Cooley was born on June 24, 1940. Just before her 16th birthday, she and Gene Cooley were wed on March 3, 1956 and would spend the subsequent 61 years serving the Lord through ministry. She was blessed with one son, Lindell, after being told it would never be possible – but Shirley knew the word of God trumped all else.

All who knew her remember Shirley as a woman of a bold and unashamed faith. Wherever she went, she was known for having a voice to sing and praise God. Her passion for prayer and truth and a move of the Holy Spirit can rarely have been matched.

All are welcome to join as we celebrate her entrance into glory. Please see the below for funeral information.

As believers in Christ we can celebrate when our loved ones pass into eternity with our Lord. Our flesh is saddened but the grace of God over shaddows us in these times of transition and helps mend our brokeness… I pray and feel confident that Jesus is doing just that for all of your family!!!!!
God bless you Pastor Lindel and Amber Cooley
